It seems like whenever I add another character to the Pirate universe, it’s always a woman for some reason. Part of this comes from the fact that all of the original pirate characters are based on real people (and that hasn’t stopped yet even with the inclusion of the Ninja). Alex and Atea are both based on people I met at a Pre-College program in 1998, and Aliunde is based off of Alex’s real life friend. In reality it makes perfect sense, but in the comic world it’s a little odd isn’t it?
