This is a larger version of the middle panel from the recent Brentalfloss comic. Brent and Dan both wanted to do an epic crossover image merging the SNES classic ChronoTrigger with Futurama. I had a little time on my hands so I started early and ended up with this.

I sampled the colors from promotional artwork and in-game sprites to make sure they matched correctly, and I did my best to copy the signature clean-line Matt Groening style.

Edit: None of us were aware that

had already done a similar idea quite a while ago. That's one of the banes of the internet's vastness. Any original idea you can come up with has probably already been done by someone else. In any case, check out their work too when you have a chance.

Since the telepods are so risky on people maybe Lucca could make more of them for transporting goods only and start a transportation revolution?

If we had one of her devices here in the USA there could be a nationwide network where it would start out with package deleveries from San Francisco to New York in just 5 minutes flat for small packages reducing trucking accidents and most important of all wait time for costumers especially on holidays when the PO gets overloaded due to the government being inept at dealing with an aging system when it needs to be privatized for faster service.

The telepod devices could link to each other with a dialing code very much like fax machines where you dial the correct code to Brooklyn NY which then you are [rpompted to use you're debit or credit card swiping in the slot to pay some of the energy fee being used.

I also like how one of the more recent Chrono Trigger fanfics explains why both telepodslooklikeopposite images. It has to do with making sure the atomic structures of the machines match perfectly down to molecular details in order for the transfer to be a success.
