This is one of the rare times that I helped with the humor of the strip. Quoted from a post by writer Dan Roth from the Brentalfloss forums: [link]

"...The ending was also changed. Brent originally had it ending at panel 5, but Andy felt like that wasn't funny enough. I came up with the switch from not wanting to watch to being unable to stop themselves from watching more and Andy recommended we have that added beat of nothing happening in panel 6."

EDIT: They're watching Star Trek The Next Generation. The whole "red shirts die off" thing was abandoned for this series and Brent is dressed as Captain Picard. Their shirt colors are correct and Brent is technically ranked higher than Travis.

Interesting, apparently by week three they manages to watch the all Seven seasons of Star Trek: The Next Generation. I greatly respect their dedication to watching the whole thing in such a short time.

This is kinda what happened to me too...
I usually don't even like science fiction, and first I wasn't that interested when my parents asked me one evening "wanna watch star trek (tng) with us?" I started watching with them just out of curiosity... And now I watch it every evening. How did this happen...?
