I loath to throw away any of my artwork, including art that was never finished, looks horrible, or has been redone. As such I have several giant boxes of nothing but old artwork lying around our basement. To sort through it all would take weeks of intense dedication, so instead I just kinda stack them up in a corner...
Someday I would like to go through them all... someday...
My gosh, Tom, i really like your work. The perspective in the first panel is really eye-cathching and interesting and the screen tone in your third panel is one of my favourite parts of your piece. The orange really contrasts well with the blue of the man's t-shirt. I feel the second panel should have featured the same background as the first panel at least but overall the simplicity of your work really makes the whole piece more bold, cheerful and memorable.
Overall i like the way the colours are bold but still blend well together and the simplicity of the characters adding to the overall impact to make it memorable.
Your popularity for this is well deserved. Keep up the good work!
I found this four-panel to be extremely humourous. Your art style is deliberate and comediacly well presented. The one thing I really do enjoy is the desire to not get rid of any of your things which is really relatable and humourous. After that simple statement which carries a portion of a hidden message of the desire to keep everything you have done in your artistic life, someone also very relatable. Then of course as you have done many times previous you round it off with the ever so humurous "stack it....build a fort" showing a clever way to bring a smile your viewers' faces. Overall I enjoyed this small four-panel and it brought a smile to my face. Well done and thank you for an excellent job.
SAME CONVO I HAD WITH MY HUSBAND!!! He has a box of his old teenage artwork that he cant stand to look at, so he stacked his box on top of my teenage-artwork box and we can be embarrassed together forever!
Hey! you stole my idea from making a fort with boxes x3! I wanted to do that inrl with costco boxes x3 you know save them up everytime i went there but... T_T I grew tired of it like in the next 3 visits there
So true, I never get rid of any drawings. It used to kill me at school if a friend did a really awesome drawing (in my eyes) and then screw it up and chuck it away because they didn't like it. I would be like "NOOO! WHAT ARE YOU DOIIING?!"
HA! This was basically my weekend with my husband. I was able to let go of two drawings, but the rest went back into boxes, so much for cleaning out the storage.
Overall i like the way the colours are bold but still blend well together and the simplicity of the characters adding to the overall impact to make it memorable.
Your popularity for this is well deserved. Keep up the good work!
