After doing such detailed backgrounds for other strips, I think I’m allowed a little leniency now and then for SYAC (a series that was never meant to utilize extraordinarily detailed backgrounds and frequently just has a character talking to the screen about issues he gripes about).

NOTE: This doesn’t mean that I’m never gonna do backgrounds for SYAC. I’ll make ‘em if and when the situation calls for them.

Seriously though, I do pretty much the same with my comics. ((Partially because I'm not comfortable drawing backgrounds if I can avoid it, and partially because it's just a silly comic series that I do when I'm not animating))
