I don't like to pull the "it's my style" card when talking about my artwork because I firmly believe that my "style" is still evolving and changing and that it's in no way fixed. It's going to keep evolving the more I draw.

Having deadlines and a release schedule is really helpful if you have a lot of projects to get done. It's really about what works for you. Some people work better without deadlines, others find deadlines to be a good motivation. Fans like having set release schedules too, which is why I try to keep SYAC and all my other sites updated regularly.

As long as I know what's coming up, I'll be able to prepare enough for it.

I just noticed that "Alex/SYAC" actually forms a checkered pattern! XD

Only recently have I realized how beneficial deadlines are to productivity. The last 3 years in college, I had to take Critical Analysis where we were required to produce 2 works every 2 weeks. Being mindful of my deadlines allowed me to create work consistently and finish stuff on time. Now that it's summer (with one semester to go before it's officially over), I'm still keeping creative, but with no deadlines I'm getting pretty lethargic.

Don't forget the Jim Davis "Garfield" style. I've seen a few of those.

I think my style keeps evolving too. The style that I drew the eyes for my characters switched completely to something almost similar to SYAC. I don't really know whether it will stick or not, but I don't do any webcomics or anything yet, so meh.

that is a tigh schedule my friend, but I do the same with my life. It's the only way to keep organized. You can't miss a giant box saying that something id due when you walk past it every moment of your life. YAY CALENDARS!!!
