I love this!

Your relatives hear you're an artist and they automatically think you're a painter. And can use ANY kind of paint!!
I have this same problem with my mother! :XD:

I say artist and people think I draw, and they're right, but I also paint, and write, and cut paper, and make jewelry, and make costumes, and a bunch of other stuff... I just don't like oil paints or oil pastels or academic essays or traditional ways of doing things... I'm weird like that^^

Artists are usually weird! Isn't that why they call this site deviantART? :deviation:

Guess you gotta specify what kind of artist, but even though I do that, people still think I'm a :painter:painter, even though I never touch paint!

I know!! I tell people I do some of my art on the internet and they're automatically like "Which thing do you use?" And I always respond "Paint" they don't comprehend what it means... I mean the thing that comes built in to ALL computers. That paint.

Well, if a person's not an artist, and you don't use the whole name of the program, of course it will confuse people! That's like telling a person who doesn't know computers or art programs well that you use "photo" instead of "photoshop" :XD: Plus, if you're not an artist, why would you be fooling around with that program? In fact, if you ARE an artist, why would you be fooling around with that program? ( jk lol )

But yeah, why use shortcuts or lingo on people like that? Laypersons need you to use the whole name and explain things. I mean, they already probably just assumed you were a painter, and you were barely able to stop them from doing that, right? :XD: You tell them you use "Paint" and you just confuse them all over again! :confused:
