Returning to the USA was more frustrating and time consuming than leaving it.
The boarder patrolmen were extremely suspicious about my books, thinking they had been printed in the UK even though I repeatedly told them I brought them with me for a convention. The fact that I had some packs of Jaffa Cakes was also a huge concern because they might contain peanuts which would contaminate things, even though I bought them IN the lobby of the airport after going through security.
Overall it was awful. I felt like I was a criminal trying to escape, not a citizen trying to get back in.Edit:
The problem with the books being printed in the UK has to do with taxing. If my inventory was from the UK, that would mean I'd have to be taxed on my books for entering the USA. The problem with the Jaffa Cakes? Yeah that was sounding pretty bull. It's like they pulled me aside but then realize there wasn't anything wrong so they started making up excuses to make it sound like they hadn't goofed up.ANTHOLOGY!
