It can be really frustrating when you can predict how people will comment on your work. Many times I know exactly what people will say to my work, so I try to subvert it by explaining that I already know and to not respond in that manner... but people don’t listen. They either ignore the description and comment anyway, or they think they’re being “cute” by being defiant. It’s basically reverse psychology. If I say “don’t talk about this subject” then that subject will be ALL that I’ll get from people.
It’s cute the first couple times, but after 500 or so comments, it’s a little annoying...
Reading this comic is like eating cotton candy, it tastes good at first, but a few minutes later you realize that you ate pretty much nothing. When I first read this, I thought it was well-drawn and I liked the depiction of dA users. I later realized that the joke was really unfunny.
The punchline didn't justify the amount of panels it took to set up the joke. The punchline itself was bland to say the least, facepalm jokes are so overused and unfunny. Maybe if the character had a completely over-the-top reaction that lasted more than one panel I would have enjoyed it more.
The actual art is colored well and I like the shading. The only problem I have with it was the gradient backgrounds which I find irritating.
Overall, I think that this is an incredibly bland webcomic.
Alright, so this totally brightened up my night. I've been reading your comics as they've come up on dA's front page, and I've really loved them all, but this one really hit home with me.
I think what I loved so much about this particular is the face in the fourth panel. That to me is what a facepalm should DEFINITELY look like, haha.
I want to say that I absolutely love your technique on this: simplistic, but detailed enough that you can get your point across without getting too ridiculously intricate. I love love love the expressions you use.
The only thing that irks me about this is the color of the Mac; I'm not sure why, maybe because I'm used to seeing white Mac Monitors, but for some reason it irks me. Oh, that is a good-sized desk. I need to buy one of those haha.
As a fellow artist, I know the feeling associated with the reverse psychology. You tell them not to say anything, and it's all they can talk about... Aggravating, that's for sure. And then you get so busy you can't even go back to fix it and it just irks you for DAYS-- or maybe that's just me, haha.
All in all, this particular comic made me LAUGH, after having a very stressful day. I loved the simple message portrayed in it, and thought it was well conveyed. I LOVE the fourth and second panel, and think this was a job well done.
Sheesh LOL, it's like when I forget my character Diatsu's necklace and everyone flips out because it's so important to his character and I'm like. If you had drawn him, you would have forgotten it too. (It's just so tiny and his hair covers most of it, plus my best friend draws him more than I actually do these days XD)
Call it a pet peev, I HATE it when people do that on my work! its like, hey, I know I suck and messing up *insert thing here, so dont hate it, ok? but, they do it anyway! I think its worse with written work
