You pretty much snagged that "troll" design from 'Where the Wild things are'...and I am really P.O'd about it.

Well...You could've come up with your own design, you know? I mean, I understand the want to supply a tribute but...well...originality is kind of a thing when it comes to story telling--even if it's in a medium such as this.
A big character in the story looking like it came from someone elses idea, well, it makes it look as though you're stealing instead of actually coming up with your own idea. There's an impression about it and seeing something as familiar as that makes your work lack it's own original character--that spark. It gets bland seeing the same thing over and over again and there's no creative pioneering.

It's kind of like you're copping out on this one. And that's a bit of a shame.

I love how everyone assumes I do everything on my own. lol. For the record, I drew a variety of different troll concepts for Brent and Dan to choose from, and in the end we went with a combination of a couple of them that intentionally were inspired to look somewhat like Where the Wild Things Are.

I understand the concern about stagnation and it is a reoccurring issue in the comic and art industry. But I think the design is changed enough to be unique while also paying homage to a great children's book classic, which is what we wanted.

I love the full series of these images. Down to earth truth about Trolls and Trolling, yet with that light humorous cartoon touch. I would love to see these merged into one larger image and spread like a virus through the net. It is a message that needs to be spread.

Definitely has a nice, Seuss-ian feel to it
