The world is not black and white, yet despite this people feel the need to bash and flame anything which doesn’t conform into the narrow classifications of “good” and “bad.” There are also things which are awesome which no one seems to ever give a crap about. This comic is all about the stuff I enjoy, that other people seem to hate or don't give a crap about.

Below are more detailed reasonings of why I like these things. Not meant as a rant, just a more detailed explanation than my comic provides if you care to read them.

1776
A fantastic musical about the signing of the Declaration of Independence. I gained so much more respect for our founding fathers than I ever had before once I fully understood what an enormously difficult challenge it was to even PASS the resolution in the congress. And besides, it’s a great musical with lots of humor and a joy to watch!

Metroid: Other M
I’ve heard so many people complaining about this game like it’s “ruined” the Metroid series or whatever. I’m sick of hearing it. This game ROCKS! If it’s too linear for you or you think Samus talks too much about her emotions, then go play Fusion and get back to me.

Star Trek: Voyager
I have found very few people who actually enjoyed this series. I was never that fond of DS9 or Enterprise and Voyager seemed to have more in common with TNG in my opinion. Plus Harry Kim and Holographic Doctor FTW!

Lady in the Water
It’s trendy to hate on Mr. M. Night these days. His movies seem to like to defy classification yet are always marketed as horror films. Lady in the Water is a fairy tale, and I loved how the events brought the small community of strange people together. Plus it has probably one of THE BEST DEATH SCENES EVER!!!

Nero Wolfe
He’s a fat, lazy, and eccentric detective. How eccentric? He won’t leave the comfort of his home, even to solve a crime. He can’t be reached between certain hours due to his need to work on his Orchids, meaning that if you want to murder someone make sure it conforms to his schedule. He eats nothing but gourmet food. He also needs his assistant Archie Goodwin to do all the leg work and gather all the facts for him so he can “deduce” things.

The Legend of Zelda: TV Show
I love this show. It was very influential to me growing up. No one likes it now because apparently it’s nothing like “Zelda” since the series evolved beyond ONE GAME and because of youtube videos stringing Link’s annoying catch-phrase into one long video. It’s good wholesome campy fun set in the Zelda universe.

Jeremy Brett
He’s most famous for playing Sherlock Holmes on PBS. He got so into the mind of the character that he eventually died trying to BE the character of Holmes. His mental state deteriorated over the course of almost 20 years trying to play Sherlock Holmes and he’s noted as being one of the best and accurate performances of Holmes ever recorded on film. Now THAT is dedication!

i heard that samus' little freakout in other m is really accurate to the symptoms of PTSD. if you look at all the shit she's gone through, it's not that surprising, not to mention the makers of other m must have expected their intended audience to know something about samus beyond the games.
