Andrew Dobson is a talented artist with a truckload of ideas. As one can tell with the majority of witty comics. Not only are they well drawn, but very well written, and "X-Mas 2010" is no exception.
Everyone knows the Earth is in bad shape (for those who don't, get off the Internet), and this art piece paints a perfect picture of how the future of Christmas could become if things don't change. As with many of his comics and artwork, Andrew combines a sort of Garfield character design with numerous other cartoon styles and does a great job at developing his own style for his characters. They look nice, they're witty, and just overall a pleasure to see time and time again. Andrew's technique is straightforward. Cell-shade combined with a random brush for the Christmas tree. It would have been even better if he would have added a sort of crayon-ish effect to the tree, but it works. Bottom line, this is a classic. Beautiful art combined with a witty dialog is what every art and comic observer likes.
I have a question to ask you: Is spot a cat or a dog? In the first few comics, he looks like a dog and sometimes you refer him as a dog... but then I get a full picture of him and he looks very much like a cat. Could you clear this up please?
