SDCC is finally here and as a result there’s probably gonna be a lot of amazing news dropped over this weekend. As such I just wanted to get some preliminary things out of the way before the bombs drop and obscure everything else.
Twitter
I have a twitter. I’ve actually managed to keep up with it at a fairly reasonable pace, I think. Primarily I’m using it now to comment on things that are too small to make it into my main journals, but too important to pass up. Most of the times it’s just me musing about stuff. You can see the twitter feed above my journal on my DA frontpage (I always list the last 5 posts there), or you can follow me here: twitter.com/ADobsonComics
Korra is all digital now
I don’t know why Nickelodeon decided to do this, but they’ve yanked Legend of Korra off the air and are going to be broadcasting the remaining episodes of Season 3 and all of Season 4 on their online streaming service instead. That’s a head scratcher to me, because it seems like it would be seen by LESS people if you interrupt the release schedule like that, but whatever. The series hasn’t been canceled and so far Season 3 has been a “breath of fresh air.”
New SYAC, SYAC, and Pirates
How’re you all enjoying NSYAC so far? I’ve been trying to maintain a set release schedule of every Tuesday and Thursday, and so far I’ve been able to maintain it. Releasing only 2 comics a week doesn’t give me much opportunities to tell longer stories, but it does give me the chance to showcase little vignettes of their lives. I’m hoping to branch out with the characters and go a little deeper into their lives soon.
Would anyone object if I posted comics with the bear character in-between the Tuesday and Thursday NSYAC release schedule? Would that confuse people too much? I do have both series separated in the gallery on my website so... it shouldn’t be too confusing... right?
Speaking of updates though, Alex Ze Pirate is still continuing her story of how everyone met over on alexzepirate.com/ Check it out!

Nick Exec 2: "Probably because we don't advertise for it enough and we don't have as set schedule for it."
Nick Exec 1: "What should we do then?"
Nick Exec 2: "Take it off the air and replace it with Spongebob reruns!"
Nick Exec 1: .....
Nick Exec 1: "Give this man a promotion!"

And geeze... Hostility much? I mean I'm just relaying info we got at comic con, so why take out this weird angry tone with me? I didn't come up with it.
Thank you for the link.
I was wondering where Korra went > : (
Season 3 bein a breath of fresh air is an mostly accurate statement to me. Emphasis on "mostly". It has it's issues when it comes to the pacing of the story wich is too slow for a show that has only 13 episode for the story (I fear a rushed ending). But given that Nick startlet the creators by ordering more seasons after the first one it holds up pretty well.
Also, no one would be confused by you releasing stuff with your bear persona in between.
It certainly is doing better than season 2 (thus far) though it still has plenty to make up for. And, to me at least, it's still got the problem of introducing too many characters without taking time to develop them. I mean, it's season 3 and they're still working on bringing forth season 1 characters as more than cardboard cutouts.
smooth move.....if they wanted it to sunk that is.
If you didn't already watched it you could also start with the original Last Airbender series wich is also really damn good.
If they’re going digital with Korra then they should put their shows back on Netflix as well. It was stupid of them to think that removing their cartoon form Netflix would increase the ratings of their channel.
TV Guide channel listed 2 episodes.
The newspapers listed 2 episodes.
The digital on-screen guide listed 2 episodes up until last night. This morning it listed 1 episode followed by an episode of Spongebob.
I thought it was an error. They wouldn't screw the Korra fans, would they? Hell, they already went in dry by moving Korra to digital / online only.
They bloody well screwed us a second time tonight, and without a reach around >_<
We will have Tuesday and Thrusday to get our fix of NSYAC, and we can expect it on those days if ya keep up the schedule. (Not gonna blame you if you don't.)
And then just other fun stuff as well. So by all means, post comics as you see fit.
Comic's been fine. No problems so far. Humorous enough.
Maybe you could title it "NSYAC: Emily and Jade", that way people will know it is a serialized story of Emily and Jade. Or something like that. Just a thought.
And book 2. What can we say about book 2? Introduction of the horrid timeslot(s) aside, I'd never seen a more unsteady schedule. I was living on-campus in a res hall at my college, and I'd watch Korra on a social lounge TV (with no TV guide feature). There was literally nothing else I watched throughout the school year. Then one week, its timeslot has changed; Bratz adventures or something stupid like that comes on instead. I try to search on the internet for official word of the timeslot, information that Nick clearly hadn't bothered to make readily available, since several minutes of searching Nick's site and TV guide websites yielded nothing. Then I think the slot changed back after that, then the week of the Beginnings special (a wonderful two episodes, as I would EVENTUALLY be able to find) they've moved it up 30 minutes. I get there seven minutes early and am bewildered to find it already on, but catch the end of one episode, disappointed to have missed it, and then leave, not knowing until later that the next one aired immediately after it.
I honestly don't understand the purpose of juking your audience on the timeslot! And then they act surprised when ratings suffer, after wasting people's time? A lot of people would give up more easily than me, though I was frustrated because my schedule is intense during the school year. The fact that I did my best to watch it but literally couldn't find it on more than one occasion means something was seriously wrong. Then for whatever reason they give up before the finale and release it online first (as the reward for enough retweets of something, if I remember?)
The Korra preview for book 3 eps up to this point, if I remember, had the narrator saying 'Tune in to an adventure you can't catch online, or anywhere else!' probably alluding to the leaks. ...What do we say now? 'Aaactually, you can catch the rest of the adventure online, and nowhere else!'
I just don't get it. Obviously Korra and ATLA are shackled to Nick, but it feels ridiculous that the network would subject it to this sort of train wreck. Sorry, that's my Korra rant
I'm glad Korra is getting a 4th season, but I fear it may be the last unless Nick gets its shit together.
